TRT has it's finger on The Pulse

The Pulse ANZ 2009IBM's new approach to the world, where everything is connected and intelligence is the new currency was introduced at Pulse ANZ 2009. As a leader in the area of services management TRT provided it's expertise in the area of Tivoli Storage Management with a valuable and practical session on managing the TSM environment.

Pulse ANZ 2009 was held from 29-30th July at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne under the banner "the new world of Service Management is here". This new approach is what IBM is calling "smarter planet". While it's an exciting idea, the reality will be created and delivered by those who truly understand the value of Service Management.

More than 550 attendees took that first step by building their skills, meeting and sharing ideas with their peers and networking with IBM executives, product experts and industry gurus. An annual event, this year the keynote session was the most highly attended session of the conference. Featuring Al Zollar (Tivoli General Manager USA), Laura Sanders (Vice President Development, Tivoli USA) and Gary Doig (GM Infrastructure and Service Delivery, Bendigo Bank and Adelaide Bank) the session covered what Service Management means for a dynamic infrastructure.

In addition to the keynote session, there were over 80 strategy and technical break-out sessions. TRT Consulting Engineer Talor Holloway presented a technical break-out session on "Top Tips and Tricks to Speed Up Disaster Recovery and DB2 Back-up Performance with TSM". The session ran for 1 hour and covered the following major areas:

  1. Avoiding Common TSM Problems + TRT's top 12 Tips for addressing them
  2. Backing Up DB2 with TSM
  3. Speeding Up Disaster Recovery
  4. Upgrading To TSM V6.1

"Tivoli Storage Management is a powerful tool for protecting & managing the information of any organisation and should be considered a core component in any long term service management solution. With the right planning and a ‘guiding hand' to avoid the common pitfalls it can be quickly implemented and configured for minimum maintenance and maximum return." commented Talor Holloway

"With over 12 years of experience and a range of tailored services around maintenance & support, disaster recovery, infrastructure management and database management TRT is well positioned to provide robust and practical solutions in the area of services management".
